Gossip Girl is a drama show originally aired on CTV and CW. It is a different type of show, as the show is narrated by the Gossip Girl. It is based on a book series with the same title that was written by author Cecily von Ziegesar.

This show first started on September 18, 2007 in Canada and then played in the U.S. later the same day.

The show features Blake Lively as Serena van der Woodsen, Leighton Meester as Blair Waldorf, Penn Badgley as Dan Humphre, Chace Crawford as Nate Archibald, Taylor Momsen as Jenny Humphrey, Ed Westwick as Chuck Bass, Jessica Szohr as Vanessa Abrams, Kelly Rutherford as Lily Bass, Matthew Settle as Rufus Humphrey, and Kristen Bell as Gossip Girl. There are also many recurring characters that will appear in the show.

During Season 1, the very first episode was seen by a lowly 3.65 million viewers. However, the show ended up having the best audience retention.

Even though it had very low rankings during the first 11 episodes of the first season, the show started to pick up in rankings from the 11th episode to the finale on May 19, 2008. Rankings for Season 2 either matched or exceeded the rankings from season 1’s episode 1.
